Welcome to the Chelmsford School Sport Partnership
COVID 19 During this time of uncertainty with Covid 19 we have suspended all large events, but are working together with our schools to make sure the children stay healthy and happy both mentally and physically. We hope the children can continue to do physical activity at school and also at home with their families. Get active together, play games, move about, dance, share activities and make sure your children remember some of the good times through this difficult period. Physical activity has so many benefits to health and well being and please use the Virtual Competition & Physical Activities tab where we have shared resources and links with you, that you can access at home for your children. We all need to stay strong, be resilient and keep as healthy as we can through these challenging times. A good way to staying positive is by getting active and for us all to pull together and help each other and our community to stay as fit and healthy as we can, in a safe environment . We may not be able to attend big sporting events for a while , so it’s time to get creative and make the most of time spent together.
Together with the 60 schools in Chelmsford we continue to promote and develop Physical Education and Sport for all young people. We deliver virtual competitions, festivals , teachers courses and leadership opportunities for students within Colleges , Secondary and Primary Schools in Chelmsford.
We continue each year to build upon the work we have done so far and to increase competition and sporting opportunities for the young people of Chelmsford. Great Baddow High School is the hub site for the development work in the Chelmsford School Sport Partnership and Chris Huartson and myself oversee and manage the programme. We develop links with National Governing bodies and clubs, work in partnership with any organisation concerned with developing young people’s interest and participation in sport and drive through government targets for Primary and Secondary schools.
All Schools follow the School Games programme, a competition framework that includes: Intra School level one, Inter School level two, County level three and National competition level four. We develop gifted and talented students, train teachers, coaches and staff, develop leadership of students, supporting Change 4 Life Clubs by encouraging the less active to do physical activity, develop disability sport and deliver a whole host of competitions for all. Our Secondary and primary school students and staff play an integral and valuable part in this sporting partnership and we thank them all for their continued support. We shall continue to work virtually and support schools until we can all be together again.

Sport and physical activity can have such a positive effect on all involved. Our ethos for all our events , is to have High Quality Competition and Festivals, played respectfully and fairly. We strive to develop a culture of positive reinforcement for our leaders, competitors, officials, teachers and spectators. All schools in Chelmsford have committed to promoting our pledge, we hope you agree with it’s message?
